Box Integration
Store and access project files in Box cloud storage. This integration connects Readybuild to your Box account, allowing you to manage project documents in a centralized cloud location.
Overview
The Box integration provides:
- Cloud file storage for project documents
- Centralized access to files across your team
- Secure sharing through Box's enterprise features
- Automatic folder organization by project
Prerequisites
Before setting up the integration, ensure you have:
- An active Box account (Business or Enterprise recommended)
- Administrator access in both Readybuild and Box
- Sufficient storage space in Box for your files
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Navigate to Integration Settings
- Go to Settings > Integrations in Readybuild
- Find Box in the list
- Click Configure
Step 2: Connect Your Box Account
- Click the Connect button
- You'll be redirected to Box's login page
- Sign in to your Box account
- Review the permissions requested
- Click Grant access to Box to authorize Readybuild
Step 3: Select Root Folder
After connecting, Readybuild will create or use a root folder in Box where all project files will be stored. This happens automatically during the connection process.
Step 4: Verify Connection
Once connected:
- You'll see a "Disconnect" button confirming the active connection
- Project file uploads will now go to Box
- Existing projects will get Box folders as files are added
How Box Storage Works
File Organization
Readybuild organizes files in Box by project:
[Readybuild Root Folder]/
├── Project-001 - Smith Residence/
│ ├── Documents/
│ ├── Photos/
│ └── Contracts/
├── Project-002 - Johnson Remodel/
│ ├── Documents/
│ └── Photos/
└── ...
Uploading Files
When you upload files in Readybuild:
- Select a file in Readybuild's file manager
- Click upload
- The file is stored in Box under the project's folder
- The file is accessible from both Readybuild and Box
Accessing Files
Files can be accessed:
- Through Readybuild: Use the built-in file manager
- Through Box: Log into Box directly to view or share files
- Box mobile app: Access files on the go
Configuration Options

- Project name
- Client name (optional)
Sharing Settings
File sharing is managed through Box:
- Log into Box directly

- Use Box's sharing features to invite collaborators
- Set permissions (view, edit, download)

- Restore previous versions if needed

- Check the correct project folder in Box
Access Denied Errors
Problem: Can't access files or folders
Solution:

Security Considerations
Data Protection
- Files are stored in Box's secure infrastructure
- Box provides enterprise-grade encryption
- Access controls follow your Box account settings
User Access
- Box folder access should match Readybuild project permissions
- Review Box sharing settings periodically
- Remove access for users who leave your organization
Disconnecting the Integration
To disconnect Box:
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Box
- Click Disconnect
- Read the warning about the implications
- Confirm the disconnection
Disconnecting Box does not delete your files from Box. However, Readybuild will no longer be able to access or upload files to Box. Files already in Box remain accessible through Box directly.
After disconnecting:
- New file uploads will use Readybuild's default storage
- Existing files in Box remain there but aren't linked
- You can reconnect at any time
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use Box and SharePoint at the same time?
A: No, only one cloud storage integration can be active. Choose the platform your team uses most.
Q: Will existing files migrate to Box when I connect?
A: No, only new uploads go to Box. Existing files remain in their current location.
Q: Can team members access files without a Box account?
A: Files are accessed through Readybuild, so no separate Box login is needed for basic access. Direct Box access requires a Box account.
Q: What happens if my Box subscription expires?
A: Readybuild will be unable to access or upload files. Reconnect after renewing your Box subscription.
Q: Are there file size limits?
A: File size limits depend on your Box plan. Check your Box account for specific limits.
Q: Can I change which Box folder Readybuild uses?
A: The root folder is set during initial connection. Contact support if you need to change it.
