Board Navigation

Learn how to navigate and interact with Project Boards to manage your pipeline efficiently.

Viewing Projects on the Board

When you open a board, projects appear as cards arranged in columns by their current stage. The board scrolls horizontally if there are more columns than fit on screen.

Column Layout

Each column displays:

  • Header - Stage name with project count and total amounts
  • Cards - Individual project cards stacked vertically
  • Sort Menu - Options to arrange cards within the column

Scrolling

  • Horizontal - Scroll left/right to see additional columns
  • Vertical - Each column scrolls independently for long lists
  • Large columns (50+ projects) use virtualization for better performance

Moving Projects Between Stages

Drag and drop projects to change their stage:

  1. Click and hold on a project card
  2. Drag the card to the target column
  3. Release to drop the card

The project's stage updates immediately when you drop it.

Moving to Won or Lost Stages

When you move a project to a Won or Lost stage, a dialog appears to capture additional information:

For Won Projects:

  • Close Date - When the sale closed (required)
  • Sold Amount - Final contract value (required)
  • Additional Fields - Any custom fields configured for this stage

For Lost Projects:

  • Close Date - When the opportunity was lost (required)
  • Reason - Why the project was lost (select from configured reasons)
  • Additional Fields - Any custom fields configured for this stage

You must complete the required fields before the move is confirmed. Click Cancel to abort the move.

Reordering Cards Within a Column

You can manually arrange cards within the same column:

  1. Drag a card up or down within its column
  2. Drop it in the desired position
  3. The manual order is preserved

This is useful for prioritizing projects within a stage.

Manual Sort Mode

Manual ordering only works when the column is set to Manual sort mode. If sorting by another field (like Close Date), cards will remain in that order.

Opening Project Details

Click on any project card to open the Project Info Panel:

  • The panel slides in from the right side
  • View and edit project details without leaving the board
  • Make changes and the card updates automatically
  • Click outside the panel or press Esc to close

Switching Between Boards

Use the board dropdown at the top to switch between different boards:

  1. Click the current board name in the dropdown
  2. Select another board from the list
  3. The view updates to show the selected board
