Daily Logs
The Daily Logs section gives customers visibility into their project's progress through documented work activities, photos, and updates from your team.
What Customers See
Daily logs appear as a chronological record of work performed on the customer's project. Each entry shows information your staff documented during construction.
Log Entry Contents
Each visible daily log includes:
| Information | Description |
|---|---|
| Date | When the work was performed |
| Work Description | What was accomplished |
| Progress Photos | Images documenting work |
| Team Members | Who worked on site |
| Weather | Conditions during work |
| Answers | Responses to client-facing questions |
What Stays Hidden

How Logs Become Visible
Submission Status
Only submitted daily logs appear in the portal. Draft logs remain hidden until finalized by staff.
Client Communication Category
Questions in the Client Communication step category are designed to be customer-facing:
- These answers appear in the portal
- Staff can write alternative "client text" for questions
- Internal Communication answers remain private
For Staff: Making Logs Customer-Visible
Creating Customer-Facing Logs
- Create a daily log for the project
- Complete the Client Communication step thoughtfully
- Add clear progress photos
- Submit the log (drafts won't appear)
- Log becomes visible in customer portal
Writing for Customers
When completing client-facing questions:
Do:
- Write clear, professional descriptions
- Explain progress in customer-friendly terms
- Include context for photos
- Note upcoming milestones
Don't:
- Use internal jargon
- Reference costs or time
- Include sensitive details
- Leave entries blank if customer-facing
Example Entries
Good client-facing entry:
"Completed framing for the kitchen addition. All windows are framed and ready for installation next week. Passed rough framing inspection."
Too internal:
"Framing done. Mike had issues with the header - took extra time. Need to talk to supplier about late delivery."
Common Customer Questions
"Why are there no recent logs?"
Customers may ask this when:
- No work has been performed recently
- Logs exist but haven't been submitted
- Staff is documenting but saving as drafts
- Project is between phases
Response: Check for draft logs that need submission, or explain the project status.
"Can I comment on a log entry?"
Daily logs are read-only for customers. Direct them to the Messages feature to ask questions about specific work entries.
"Why don't I see all the details?"
Some information stays private (internal notes, costs). Explain that logs show work progress while business details are managed separately.

Best Practices
Submission Timing
- Submit logs the same day work occurs
- Don't batch multiple days together
- Weather data captures current conditions
Photo Quality
- Include multiple angles
- Show context (room, area)
- Document completion of phases
- Avoid photos with sensitive information
Consistent Updates
Regular logs build customer confidence:
- Submit even on slow progress days
- Note waiting periods (permits, inspections)
- Communicate next steps when possible
