Best Practices

What to Attach

  • Application forms - Original permit applications submitted to municipalities
  • Approval letters - Official approval or denial documents
  • Plans and drawings - Submitted architectural or engineering plans
  • Correspondence - Important emails or letters about the permit
  • Receipts - Payment receipts for permit fees

File Organization Tips

  1. Name files clearly - Use descriptive names like "Building_Permit_Application_123.pdf"
  2. One file per upload - Permits accept one file at a time, so combine documents if needed
  3. Update after approval - Replace application documents with final approved versions
  4. Keep originals - Store critical permit documents in your project's main files folder as backup
