Sales by Designer Report

The Sales by Designer report tracks design team performance by showing sales metrics for projects where designers served as the planning team leader. This report helps evaluate designer-led project outcomes against goals.

Report Overview

This report shows sales performance for team members in design departments who are assigned as planning team leaders on projects. It compares actual sales against goals and provides win/loss metrics.

Report Columns

Understanding the Metrics

Sales Goal

The sales goal is calculated from the yearly budget configuration:

  • Based on Average Job Size × Jobs Won targets
  • Set in Settings > Year Budget
  • Specific to planning team leader position

Predicted Budget vs Sold Amount

  • Predicted Budget: Sum of estimated values before closing
  • Sold Amount: Actual contract values when won
  • Compare these to evaluate estimation accuracy

Closing Percentage

Calculated as: (Won Projects / Total Projects) × 100

This shows the designer's effectiveness at converting opportunities to sales.

Drill-Down Details

Click any row to open a detailed popup showing:

  • Individual projects for that designer
  • Project-level metrics
  • Contact and project information
  • Contribution to totals

Report Totals

The footer row shows aggregate values:

  • Total sales goals across all designers
  • Combined predicted budget
  • Total sold amounts
  • Overall won/lost counts
  • Company-wide closing percentage for design-led projects

Tips

  • Default date range is the current month
  • Goals require yearly budget to be configured
  • Change orders are tracked separately from original sales
  • Click column headers to sort by that metric
  • Compare designers with similar project types for fair evaluation

Requirements

For Accurate Data

  1. Yearly Budget Setup: Configure sales goals in Settings > Year Budget
  2. Planning Team Leader Assignment: Projects must have a planning team leader assigned
  3. Design Department: Team members must be in a department with type "design"
  4. Actual Close Dates: Projects need close dates to appear in the report
